Irene is from southwestern British Columbia, Canada. As an avid lover of nature she has always searched for ways to interpret its beauty and after experimenting with many mediums, settled on beads. The glitter and transparency works well to depict her versions of birds, butterflies, flowers and animals. These creations can be used in many ways - as jewelry in the form of pins, pendants or hair decorations. The flowers are lovely in arrangements or a single in a little vase. As seen in Irene's depiction of "The Four Seasons" they also make unique 3D pictures. Irene has also mounted her birds on a plastic card holder (like the one florists use to put cards in an arrangement) so she can put her birds or butterflies in a live flower arrangement or a plant. The possibilities are many. She has the first hummingbird she made hanging from her chandelier and they also look stunning hanging in a window where the sun catches and reflects, creating pleasure to the eye. She also loves to do pet portraits as seen in the beaded picture of her beloved cat, Emily. As well she can do beadwork from pictures in freehand beading. She is also open to requests and willing to work with you to do a piece you will treasure. |
